Immerse yourself in the ngahere and experience the beauty brought to life by the pūrākau of our native trees. You'll learn about tikanga that guides how we move and interact with Tāne Mahuta, and his descendants.

At the end of the tour you will experience the flavours of the forest with food prepared by Awhi and Tash and you’ll also be sent home with a booklet full with pūrākau and karakia to help you reconnect when you go on your own bush walk.

Only one wānanga registration can be added to the cart per person. Children aged 4 and under are free.

How should I prepare for my tour?

  • Dress weather appropriate

  • Make sure your footwear is appropriate e.g. sports shoes or hiking boots

  • Bring your own water bottle

  • Bring your own medication e.g. asthma inhaler

Guests should be aware that the terrain will have uneven surfaces and may be muddy in some areas. While Mohi bush is predominantly flat, there are sections of the bush that have inclines. This tour is not wheelchair accessible, nor is it appropriate for push chairs.

When you arrive at Mohi Bush, drive in the gate, there is a grassy area to park on. Remember to close the gate when you enter
